Ignored!Reader x Canada: We're not invisible!

“Um excuse me” you say, tapping Alfred on the shoulder.

“WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! IT’S A GHOST!” He screams, running down the hallway.

You hug your books to your chest. This kind of thing always happens. You decide to go get the homework from someone else. You scan for someone who will maybe acknowledge you. You see Arthur and Francis arguing over something or another. You decide to go and ask one of them

“Um, excuse me?” You ask politely.

They ignore you, and so after about 5 minutes of waiting, you tap Arthur gently on the shoulder like you did for Alfred.

“What was tha-” he asks as he turns around, accidently smacking you in the face in the process.

“Ow” you cry.

Arthur apologizes, and as your about to ask for the homework, Alfred shouts for his older brother, and Arthur is distracted. You try asking Francis, but he just starts talking with Gilbert and Antonio, completely forgetting that you were there.

“Why doesn’t anyone realize that I’m here?” You ask nobody in particular.

“Oi, ‘ave you ‘eard? My little brother iz transferring tomorrow.” You hear Francis say loudly.

Great, the BTT is going to turn into the BTQ. Just what the school needed. Not.

“What is your bruder like?” Gilbert asked

“Is he like you amigo?” Antonio added.

“Non. He iz nothing like me. He iz more quiet.” Francis replied

“So he’s like the unawesome, uh, what’s her name?” Gilbert asked, obviously referring to you.

The next day, the teacher introduces a new boy. He was pretty cute compared to Francis. He asks the boy to introduce himself, and compared to his brother, he’s completely silent. He had to repeat himself, because at first he introduced himself to the floor.

“My name is Matthew Williams. I transferred from a school in Quebec City. It’s very nice to meet you all.” The entire time he said this, he seemed to shrink into himself.

Giggling internally, you find this adorable. Of course the ‘awesome Gilbert’ had to ruin the moment by raising his hand. The teacher called on him.

“Ze awesome me wants to know where Quebec City is.”

“I-it’s in Canada.”

“Wait, where?”

You face palm. Did Gilbert really not know where the second largest country is?

“It-it’s above the United states.” Matthew replies softly hugging his books to his chest.

After he was introduced, he was popular for about a week, and then everyone forgot about him.  You end up learning that he’s the half-brother of Arthur and Alfred, and the half-brother of Francis. Unfortunately, that meant he kept getting confused for Alfred (It turns out that although they’re half-brothers, they’re twins) or for Francis. You were jealous, at least he got noticed.  You on the other hand got a bunch of “What was her name again” or “How long have you been standing there for”. It was honestly annoying. You were so busy mentally ranting that you didn’t notice Matthew come up behind you.

“H-hey. C-can I get the homework for last class. Please?” You heard Matthew’s voice say
You spun around and saw a blushing Matthew behind you.

“Wait, you can see me?” You ask, immediately regretting it.

“Yeah, I can. I have that problem too. People don’t notice me, and when they do, it’s to harass me about something I didn’t even do!” Matthew said, becoming slightly angry. You found it adorable.

You gave him the homework and started hanging out with him. It turns out that he grew up in Canada and didn’t even know about his older brothers until middle school. He kind of gets along with them, but he wishes that they remembered him. One year, they almost forgot his birthday. You told him about how you once snuck up on Francis and somehow, he was convinced that his conscious was speaking.  

The moment was ruined with the BTT running into Matthew, playing football in the halls again. Unfortunately, this ended with Matthew staring directly into your eyes from literally two inches (or five centimeters) away from you. Yep, Antonio had accidently pushed him onto you.

“Sorry guys, we didn’t see you!” they apologized half heartedly

“WE’RE NOT INVISIBLE!” You and Matthew yell at the same time.
