Warning: Romano doesn't have very nice language, so he does say a few bad words in Italian. It is mild swearing. Read at your own discretion.
“Dude, today’s going to be awesome. I’m going to throw a gigantic party and invite, like, everyone!” America shouted to nobody in particular.
He went through a mental list of people he’d invite. He decided to start by calling Prussia. Grabbing his cellphone, he scrolled though his contacts until he came to Prussia’s name. He pressed the call button, and after ringing twice, he heard Prussia answer.
“Hallo[1], this is the Awesome Prussia speaking. What awesome thing can I help you with America?”
“Dude! I’m throwing an awesome party for my birthday today, and I was wondering…”
“Sorry buddy, I can’t go.”
“Why not?”
“Hungary is dragging me to the store again. I’d ditch her for your awesome party, but you know what that woman’s like when she’s angry.”
“Oh, no probs dude!”
“Sorry America, I gotta go. Auf Wiederhören[2]!”
America heard a click as the line went dead. It was a shame that neither Prussia nor Hungary would be there, but no worries, he’s have a great time without them. He decided to try giving his old friend Lithuania a ring. America quickly found the number and pressed call. It didn’t take long for Lithuania to pick up.
“Klausau[3]? Oh, Mister America. How are you?” The Lithuanian asked happily
“I’m doing amazingly. Anywho, today is my birthday so I’m throwing this rad party. You should totally come!”
“I’m sorry Mister America, but I promised Poland that I’d go to the mall with him today.”
“Why is everyone shopping today?” America asked annoyed
“Pardon?”
“That’s cool dude. Have fun shopping.”
“We, like, totally have to go now!” America heard Poland shout in the background
“Sorry, I have to go. It was nice talking to you. Sudie[4].” Lithuania answered before hanging up
“What is it with everyone and shopping today?” America asked nobody in particular.
After getting that out of his system, America wondered who he should call next.
“I know! I’ll call Italy. That dude’s always up for a party.”
America quickly found the number. The phone was answered by the less cheery Italian.
“Pronto[5]. Who is this?”
America was a little surprised that Romano had answered the phone. Then he realized that he had called the home number instead of the cheery Italian’s cellphone. Snapping out of his shock, he answered the southern Italian.
“It’s me, America.”
“What do you want?” the Italian asked annoyed
“I want to invite you and your little bro to my awesome birthday bash.”
“Can’t go.” Romano answered simply
“Why not?”
“I’m going on a date, and that idiota[6] fratello[7] of mine is hanging out with that macho potato again.”
“I’ll try calling them then.” America responded
“Don’t bother. My fratello left his cellphone here, and that patata bastardo[8] doesn’t have a cell…Idiota Spagna[9]! Bring that back! No! I do not need a pet turtle. Porca miseria[10]! I don’t care if you have too many! Augh!”
The phone was then slammed down on the receiver. It took the American a moment to recover. After he recovered, he decided to call France, only to learn that he was spending the week with Seychelles. Remembering his friend Denmark, he found him visiting Greenland. Seeing as he wasn’t having much luck with friends, he decided to call at random.
After two hours, America was hung up on by Cuba, Switzerland, Netherlands, and Russia. Russia had only hung up on him because Belarus appeared. When he tried Austria and Estonia, Austria had a piano concert, and Estonia, Latvia, and Ukraine had a choir concert. When he tried Greece, Australia, Turkey, India, and Romania, all her got was their answering machine. Iceland and Norway had begun to fight when America called, and after ten minutes, America got fed up and hung up on them.
Running out of people to call, he called China. After a few moments, China answered his phone.
“喂(Wei)[11] Who is this aru?”
“It’s me, America. It’s my birthday today, and I want to invite you to my party tonight.”
“对不起 (Dui bu qi)[12] America. All of the Asian countries are celebrating Hong Kong’s birthday today. It was on the first, but since we’ve been busy until today, we decided to celebrate it today.”
“Oh.” Came America’s sad reply.
China began to feel bad, and told him to call Japan since Japan wasn’t celebrating Hong Kong’s birthday with the others. America thanked him and hung up to call Japan. How he had forgotten such a close friend, he didn’t know. The phone rang twice before the Japanese man picked up.
“もしもし(moshi moshi)[13].”
“Dude! I’m throwing a party for my birthday tonight. You’ll be there right?” America asked anxiously
“ごめなさい (gomenasai)[14] America-san. I promised England-san that I would spend time with him today.”
“Oh. That means that nobody will celebrate the hero’s birthday.” America softly whispered
Tears began to form in his eyes. He didn’t need everyone there, but he at least wanted someone to be there. Did everyone just make up an excuse so that they didn’t have to come? His thoughts are broken by Japan speaking.
“America-san? Are you still there?”
“Yeah, I’m here Japan.”
“Have you tried calling your brother?” Japan asked
“Isn’t England with you?”
“I meant your other brother.”
“My other brother? Oh yeah, Canada! No, I haven’t called him yet. I’ll try him next. Thanks! Bye Japan!” America answered before ending the call.
America went to his contacts and selected Canada’s name. The phone rang once, twice, three times. America was just about to hang up when he heard the phone being answered.
“Hello? Who is this?”
“It’s me! America!”
“Ah, hello America. Can I help you with anything?”
America was just about to invite him to his party when he suddenly broke down crying. He felt so forgotten, and when Canada asked what was wrong, he poured out his heart to him.
“Nobody else will celebrate my birthday with me, so will you?” America sobbed
America heard silence, and taking it as a rejection, began to bawl anew.
“Hey, America?” Canada softly answered
To Canada’s annoyance, his brother did not hear him the second, nor third time when he repeated himself.
“AMERICA!” the quiet country shouted irritated.
America stopped crying in shock. Had his brother, Canada, just shout? Not just shout at anyone, but shout at him?
“Thank you. So what I was trying to say was, yes, I’ll celebrate your birthday with you. Why don’t you come to my house?”
“Thank you bro! Why at your house though?”
“That way, I can treat you to dinner. Consider it my present this year.”
America smiled and wiped his tears away.
“Thanks bro. I’ll be up there in a few.”
America hung up before the quiet Canadian could say another word. He hurried up to Canada’s house as fast as he could. When he arrived, America knocked on the door. A few moments later, the door opened to reveal a smiling Canadian.
“Hey, come on in” Canada softly greeted
“Thanks bro.”
“ Can you head to the living room? I’ll go grab us some snacks and I’ll meet you in there.
“Sure thing Canadia!” America shouted, heading for the living room.
“ I’m Canada! ” Canada corrected in America’s direction
America practically ran to the living room. The door was shut, which confused him, since Canada never shut the door to his living room. America hesitated a moment before slamming open the door.
“SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!”
America saw everyone except England (who never came anyways) crowded into Canada’s living room. Tears began to form in his eyes. He asked who came up with the idea. Liechtenstein answered that it was Canada. Canada attempted to sneak in at this point, but America glomped him, thanking him over and over.
“America! Get off of your brother! You’re suffocating him!”
America got off of Canada and turned to face whoever just scolded him. He turned to find himself face to face with England.
“E-England?”
“Happy Birthday America.”
America’s smile couldn’t have been brighter.

This was meant for America's Birthday, but I submitted it alittle bit after midnight on the fifth (okay more like at 2:00ish). T.T Sorry America. Happy Belated Birthday.
Just a quick note: I see England and America as still having a brotherly bond. If you don't like, please don't complain.
This is the first fanfiction that I've published here that is not a reader insert
Please enjoy.
P.S. This does contain some swear words from everyone's favorite Southern Italian, Romano
P.S.S. If any translations are wrong, please let me know.
P.S.S.S. I hope none of the characters are too OOC. Sorry if they are.
